Youth Opportunities for Unparalleled Training in Healthcare, Medicine, Education, and Development
A 5 week Summer intensive course for youth ages 13-20 years old.
Northeast Georgia Health System (NGHS) and Help for Healthcare Professionals, Inc. (HHCP) are proud to announce a collaborative physician mentorship program designed to foster the growth and development of our future healthcare leaders.
This initiative combines the strengths of NGHS’s Graduate Medical Education (GME) with HHCP’s mission-driven support for healthcare professionals. Together, NGHS and HHCP aim to empower aspiring physicians and underrepresented groups in medicine through 1:1 mentorship, ensuring a resilient and well-supported healthcare community for the future.

Health Careers Awareness for Communities (HCAC)
- Providing virtual and in-person education, exposure, and resources aimed at exciting youth and the community about unique pathways into the healthcare workforce
- Career Day Speaker
- Supporting Health Professional and Collegiate Organizations Health Career Initiatives- Workforce Recruitment, Transitions Day, etc.
Internships
- Internships to provide high school and college students with opportunities to learn about specific healthcare professions, entrepreneurship, marketing, healthcare technology, nonprofit management, and more!
- Provide hands-on internships with passionate, talented team members in the healthcare industry.
- Preceptors are some of the industry’s kindest and most passionate healthcare veterans.
Scholarships
TO GIVE, TEXT "HHCPEDU" TO 44-321
- Clara Barton Aspiring Nurse Scholarship Award: For high school seniors in Gwinnett County Public Schools. Help a young dreamer start their nursing journey with a scholarship of $500-$1000.
- HEART (Healthcare Education and Readiness Training): Support for aspiring first responders. This scholarship provides $1800-$5000 for EMT and paramedic trainees, including other associated fees equipping them with the skills to save lives. OPEN RECRUITMENT email, hr@hhcpinc.org.
- HOPE (Healthcare Opportunities and Professional Empowerment): Targeted at single mothers, at-risk youth, and minorities, this program offers $1000-$10,000 for courses like patient care technician (PCT), Phlebotomy, medical/ nursing assistant training. A step towards diversity and empowerment in healthcare.
- HEAL (Health Equity Advocacy and Leadership): Foster future healthcare leaders focused on Health Equity, Public Health, and Health Policy. Contributions here support training, certifications, and conference attendance, driving change in the healthcare system, up to $2500.
- Undergraduate Scholarships: For students in any health career track, offering up to $2500, potentially as a multi-year scholarship, supporting various paths including medicine, nursing, dentistry, and more.
- Graduate Scholarships: Aiding advanced studies with up to $5000 scholarships, potentially as a multi-year scholarship, this supports dedicated professionals in any health career track, potentially over multiple years.
Financial Assistance
- Assistance is provided to offset tuition costs, eliminate application fees, sponsor online or in-person courses for new or existing healthcare workers.
Community Education, Awareness, & Outdoor Wellness Clinics
- Provide Speakers for Various Community Education and Awareness Events.
- Educate minority groups and members of the community about health and wellness, i.e., vaccine benefits, skin care, heart health, diabetes, improving mental health, coping strategies, sexually transmitted disease (STD) screenings, Women Infants and Children (WIC) programs, and more!
- Host Annual Gwinnett Unity Project’s Live Healthy Gwinnett initiative.
- Administer Covid-19 vaccines and provided various health screenings.
- The Juneteenth Unity Celebration & Outdoor Wellness Clinic commemorates African-American emancipation and health and wellness in the African- American community.
- Receive Annual Proclamation from the Georgia State Governor 2020-2023
- Partners include Gwinnett, Newton, Rockdale Health Department & The CORE Public Health team.
CBO VaxBridge Vaccine Program
- Community-Based Organization (CBO) vaccination drive to provide vaccine education, promote awareness and increase community access.
- Hosted at churches, schools, etc., and primarily focused on minority groups.
- Partners include Gwinnett, Newton, Rockdale, Fulton Health Departments, and The CORE Public Health team.
